Protean has helped the Government of India achieve its goal of financial inclusion by providing its services at a large scale. Protean's National ID Authentication Solution allows residents to prove their identity and service providers to offer services and access benefits. The solution enables a cardholder to submit their unique identity number and personal information to the issuer, who validates the information with a Yes/No response. Protean's eSign service simplifies the digital signature process for National ID holders by allowing them to sign documents online after biometric/one-time password authentication, eliminating the need for paper-based application forms or supporting identification documents. The service offers a faster rate of electronic verification than traditional Digital Signature Certificates (DSC).

Protean's Account Aggregator (AA) allows customers to transfer their financial information from various financial accounts to any entity requiring access to such information. Protean is a key contributor in the development of a sustainable and efficient defined contribution pension system in India. It aims at fulfilling 3 major objectives: Old age income Safe returns Extending security coverage to all citizens. In 2007, Protean was identified by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) to undertake the key responsibility of the Central Record keeping Agency (CRA) for the National Pension System (NPS). Protean established a strong IT infrastructure backbone, issued unique Permanent Retirement Account Numbers (PRANs), maintained a database of all PRANs issued, and recorded transactions relating to each subscriber's PRAN.

Protean is one of the certified and empanelled implementation partner for Co-WIN’s international implementation. CoWIN (Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network) is an Indian government web portal for COVID-19 vaccination registration, owned and operated by India's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. It displays booking slots of COVID-19 vaccine available in the nearby areas and can be booked on the website. The site also provides vaccination certificates to the beneficiaries, which act as Vaccine Passports during the COVID-19 pandemic for the beneficiaries and can be stored in Digilocker.
The Co-WIN platform has been made available by the Indian Government as a “Digital Public Good” for all the nations globally.
